Why Chattanooga?
I’ve mentioned a few times that Chattanooga is sort of a home base for me. It is not my ‘hometown’ since I grew up in BFE Indiana but it is sort of my adopted hometown and according to Mikesha Lacy owner of the Chattanooga Selfie Museum the city adopted me back. People in Chattanooga are just awesome like that. Seriously, I love her and can’t wait to share the video of the selfie museum with you.
There is so much history, tourism, and a thriving local life the city is hard not to love. I’m planning to focus on the history that took place in and around Chattanooga, the different neighborhoods of Chattanooga, upcoming and thriving small businesses in the area, and of course the food. I wouldn’t be me if I was focusing on a city and not talking about where and what to eat.
What makes Chattanooga special?
Ok, this could be a whole post on its own but for now I’ll keep it short and sweet. Chattanooga is known as the scenic city because it is part of the transition between the Appalachians and the Cumberland plateau, with the Tennessee River running through the city it sure does live up to its nickname. My favorite thing about Chattanooga is the small town feel while having the benefits of a city. Oh, and all the cool outdoorsy stuff to do.
Are you just going to talk about the normal tourist stuff?
While I would love a super secret behind the scenes tour of Rock City that is not even on my dream Chattanooga video list. I plan on starting my Chattanooga journey searching for the best coffee shop in town. While searching out the coolest places to feature and getting to know the small business owners in town better. I have always talked about how important it is to be a traveler and not a tourist and that stays true even if you’re learning more about your own area.
What to expect?
A mini monthly travel guide for cool things coming up if you’re in the local area, as well as featuring different locations, businesses, and people around Chattanooga in their own videos on YouTube and posts here on the blog. I’m also starting an investigative series relating to Chattanooga thats going to take a bit of time before I can bring you the full story but I promise it will be worth it.
I’m working on putting together some pretty sweet Pinterest boards about the Chattanooga area so be sure to give me a follow on there to keep from missing out.
As always, this blog is for you. If there is something you want me to check out or cover send me an email, a dm, or write a note to be brought by carrier pigeon. Leave me a comment below letting me know what you’re most looking forward to with Chattanooga in the spotlight.
