1. Coie is my nickname

I gave myself the nickname Coie when I was two years old. I was learning who people were and pointed to my parents calling them mommy and daddy respectively and then I pointed to myself and said Coie. We are all pretty sure I said Coie because I couldn’t pronounce Courtney. But the nickname stuck and I even taught my best friends daughter to call me Aunt Coie when she was to little to pronounce Courtney as well.

2. I’m chasing my dreams

My dream job is to travel all the places and eat all the food. Seriously. For as long as I can remember people have laughed at this but it’s true. I want to travel and learn and experience cultures and share them with people who may not get the chance to travel or want to leave the comfort of their own homes. There is so much to be learned from travel and I want to share it with as many people as I can.

3. I don’t go anywhere without my dog

There are dog people and then there’s me. I love dogs, the bigger the better. I had a black lab Newfie mix named Gunner for 9 years and I still miss him to this day. Bruno, an Australian Cattle Dog has been my best friend for almost 3 years now, he goes everywhere with me. If my dog can’t come, then I don’t really need to be there. He’s kind of an asshole and is working on his people skills (more about that in another post) but we are working on it and he is the smartest dog I have ever met.

4. I ask a lot of questions

I need to know things. And even more than that I need to know the why behind things. The best way to find something out is to ask, right? So I do. I will ask anyone anything and apparently it’s embarrassing (at least thats what I’ve been told). But let me tell you what, when you need someone to find something out I sure am the person everyone comes to.

5. I make a lot of stupid faces

I used to joke that if I managed to keep my mouth from saying what I was thinking my face sure would give it away. Turns out as I got older I did learn to think and not say things, but my face is a little harder to keep under control. I am very facially expressive and I don’t foresee that changing in the near future. It’s probably why I never learned how to play poker.

6. I love to learn

I hated school until I was in college. It probably had something to do with that undiagnosed ADD I had going on. But I have always loved to learn. It goes hand in hand with asking all those questions. There is almost nothing I won’t learn how to do. Learning can come in so many forms but learning through experiences is by far my favorite way to learn.

7. I get hangry

You know how snickers commercials go right? Yeah, thats me. I keep a snack in my purse, backpack, car, pretty much anywhere because I’m just not me when I’m hungry. It took a while to realize that but once I did I became a much more pleasant person to be around.

8. Ole Miss football is my jam

I love college football. SEC football specifically, Ole Miss to be exact. I don’t know what else there is to say about this except Hotty Toddy y’all.

9. I’m a foodie

Greek food is my favorite cuisine, and pizza is my go to food of choice. But there is almost no type of food I won’t try. ALMOST. Balut is a no from me dawg. If food is going to be something I would consider ‘weird’ just don’t tell me what it is until after I try it. One of the best things about traveling is the food.

10. I love being outside

I love hiking and camping and adventures, but I also love drinking on a patio and listening to live music. Campfires are what cozy dreams are made of and large bodies of water are my happy place. I don’t like being cold, but I love snow. No matter what season it is, you can probably find me outside. Bonus Fact: Fall is my favorite season.
